Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and the Heir Apparent H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have sent cables of congratulations to the President of Vietnam on the occasion of his country’s national day.

The Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani has also sent a similar cable to the President of Vietnam.

DOHA: A total of 30 million people from 31 countries benefited from the free Iftar meals provided by the Sheikh Thani bin Abdulla Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) during Ramadan.

RAF has allotted QR30m for its Ramadan projects—QR15m inside Qatar and QR15m abroad. The countries that benefited from the Iftar project include Palestine, Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan, Yemen, Morocco, Mauritania, Somalia, Eritrea, Chad, Djibouti, Senegal, Mali, Ghana, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Nigeria, Togo, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia, India and Nepal.

RAF also organised education programmes for Muslims focusing on Ramadan. In Qatar, About 11,000 people from eight communities attended the mass Iftars organised by RAF.
