Bloomsbury launches Tassmeem on QScience.com Tuesday, 22 March 2011 04:56

DOHA: Bloomsbury Qatar Foundation Journals (BQFJ) yesterday announced the launch of Tassmeem on QScience.com, the digital publishing portal for research journals.

Tassmeem is a new, peer-reviewed, open-access, international design journal that provides a multi-modal forum for the exchange of ideas and findings on all aspects of creative research. All content in the journal will be ‘open access’, meaning they are free-to-read on the web and authors retain copyright on their works.

Tassmeem encompasses, but is not limited to, the areas of: creativity and innovation, design education and pedagogy, design theory, criticism and history, sustainability, applied design, design methodology, interdisciplinary design, experimental design, the practice of design and global/local design.

“The aim of Tassmeem is to publish high quality, thought-provoking, original research that engages in the evolving scholarship of design,” said Peter Chomowicz, Managing Editor of Tassmeem and Associate Dean for Research and Academic Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University at Qatar. The launch of Tassmeem – announced at the Tasmeem Doha conference — is a major milestone in Qatar Foundation’s and BQFJ’s mission to reflect the burgeoning research environment of Qatar to the wider world through a state-of-the-art publishing enterprise.

“As design is surrounding our everyday lives - be it researchers, students, and the general public, it is only fitting to welcome a journal about design to our QScience.com platform,” said Arend Küster, Managing Director of BQFJ.
