DOHA: A cutting-edge technology that will teach young Qataris to develop the bright prospects of their promising careers is up in the works.
This came after an agreement was reached between Qatar Career Fair (QCF), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), and Kuder, a leading global provider of internet-based tools for career planning and assessment.
The agreement, signed by Khalid Al Sulaiteen, Co-Chair of the Steering Committee of QCF, and Phil Harrington, President of Kuder, will bring in new opportunities for young Qataris to enhance their careers with the new technologies developed by Kuder that is tailor-made to suit the local needs of the human resource industry.
"We chose to work with Kuder because of its potential and its ability to implement programmes related to career planning in Qatar. Kuder is an internationally recognised pioneer in the career development industry, and we at QCF are delighted to sign this agreement. We hope our relationship grows and opens new doors for Qatar’s future,” said Al Sulaiteen.
Kuder’s completely customisable Internet-based system combines the user’s interests and skills to develop a personal portfolio that enables them to explore a wide range of career possibilities. The Alliance of Career Resource Professionals (ACRP) standards committee has certified Kuder’s Career Planning System compliance at the Comprehensive (National System) Level.
The new agreement will encompass several components, and priority will be given to QCF in terms of Kuder programme implementation in Qatar and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
The first component will include the Career Development Course, designed by Kuder for academic counsellors in Qatar. The course will assist counsellors when guiding Qatari students to select careers and develop plans for their futures, helping to ensure professional success.
QCF now has exclusive rights to apply and market this course in Qatar and the GCC. Kuder will also offer the Career Planning Tools Programme, which aims to equip Qatari students and graduates with the resources necessary for career planning.
"The cutting-edge tools and resources for career development of human capital to ensure a future in which they have every opportunity to lead more productive and fulfilling lives,” Harrington said.
The new partnership with Kuder, would help students and adults in Qatar and the region achieve their educational and career planning goals, will further QF’s mission and vision of building human capacity for the future.
