DOHA: The fifth Wheels ‘n’ Heels Family Fun Day, which offers families here the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic day of free entertainment, will kick off today at 2pm at the Museum of Islamic Art Park.
Organised by Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) and under the auspices of H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani promises eight hours of exciting activities for the whole family.
The Wheels ‘n’ Heels Action Zones bursts into life at 2pm. Children will love the massive number of activities in the Kidz Zone including an interactive arts and learning activities provided by Children Cultural Centre space, skills based competitions, bouncy castle, stilt walkers and much more.
The Popular children’s entertainer Baba Langa will ensure the kids are enjoying themselves at the event.
The Wheels ‘n’ Heels Stage hosts a Clown Show, followed by the Jugglers’ Show, a thrilling Entertainment Show and Balloons & Bubble.
Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Qatar-Japanese relations, in partnership with the Qatar Japan 2012 Committee Wheels ‘n’ Heels proudly present a special Japanese Drums performance by students attending the Japanese School in Qatar followed by a traditional Soran Dance performance by 40 students from Japan.
Children can also register at the Porsche Kids Driving School @ Wheels ‘n’ Heels, in which they can have Porsche Kids Driving School caps and child safety booklets.
In addition they could be part of the 100 lucky kids registered for road safety awareness lessons, where they would be able to walk away with their own Porsche Driving Licence after driving safely at Porsche Driving Kids School tomorrow.
Sports fans can join Olympic heroines Nada Zeidan, Rania Elwani and 20 top Qatar Stars League players at Wheels ‘n’ Heels circuit , while young ones will be inspired by Ghanem Al Muftah and enjoy meeting popular Jazeera Children’s Channel presenters Gretta Al Rayes and Said Sarhan, Masters of Ceremony of the event.
At the Health & Safety Zone, Civil Defence volunteers will teach the importance of safety, while Child Culture Centre and Qatar Diabetes Centre staff will provide free health advice and checks. Tour of Qatar Finale and Ceremony will be held at 4pm to be followed by QTEL sponsored Wheels’ n ‘Heels Circuit when thousands will jog, cycle, skateboard or simply walk the circuit to raise funds for ROTA’s local and international education projects.
At the Active Zone, ASPIRE and Qatar Olympic Committee fitness experts will provide exercise activities and free advice and exercise tips for the entire family.
The launch of the official Doha 2020 Olympic Logo & Slogan will be done live on the Wheels ‘n’ Heels Stage at 5.45pm.
Performers at the Wheels ‘n’ Heels Stage include Arab’s Got Talent singing sensation Hala Al Turk, UAE singer Fayez Al Said, legendary Qatari singer Ali Abdulsatar and Jordanian music sensation, television host and actress Diana Karazon, winner of the first ever Super Star television series who will cap the day’s event.
