Mercury to dip today: Met Dept Sunday, 12 February 2012 03:51

DOHA: Temperature is expected to dip by two to three degrees Celsius today thanks to the strong northwesterly winds lashing the county since yesterday, according to the Meteorology Department.

The strong cold winds could prevail over the next two days. The minimum temperature today could plummet to 14 degrees, against the 17 degrees recorded yesterday. The maximum temperature would settle at 22 degrees- two degrees less compared to yesterday.

The northwesterly winds would blow at speeds ranging from 15 to 25 knots inshore and 20 to 30 knots offshore. The winter weather is expected to prevail until the end of this month, with repeated ups and downs in the mercury. The Peninsula
