DOHA: Music icon David Pomeranz will serenade Doha audience with his love songs on July 2 and 3 at the Ramada Plaza.
The much-anticipated concert of the multi-award winning singer-songwriter is being organised jointly by Pag-Iribang Bicolnonon Qatar (PIBQ) and Ramada Plaza and will benefit various initiatives of PIBQ in the Philippines.
For over three decades Pomeranz has captured the attention of the world with his love songs that hit through the hearts of wide-ranging audiences from age 8 to 80, a rarity among recording stars. He recorded highly successful compositions such as Tryin’ To Get the Feeling Again’, ‘The Old Songs’, ‘King and Queen of Hearts’, and ‘Got to Believe in Magic’ which have already become classics.
The American songwriter and lyricist has also written for feature films, television and theatre. He composed the songs and stars in Chaplin: A Life in Concert, a unique one-man multi-media musical event about the life of the brilliant and controversial artist, Charlie Chaplin. Over 35 million of Pomeranz’s recordings have been sold worldwide.
In the Philippines alone, his album Born For You - His Best and More sold over 500,000 copies making it the largest selling international pop album in the history of the country.
His songs has been covered and recorded by a very diverse group of artists including Barry Manilow, Clay Aiken, Lea Salonga, Kenny Loggins, Bette Midler, Freddie Mercury, Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi, Sir Laurence Olivier, The Hollies, The Carpenters, The Muppets, Andrea Marcovicci, and hip-hop artist Missy Elliott.
The first show on July 2 will be held at the Qube, Ramada Plaza at 8.30pm and tickets will be available at the Qube entrance for QR150. Membership is required for entry. The second show will be held at the Giwana Hall of Ramada Plaza on July 3 from 8.30pm. Tickets are available at Virgin Mega Store, Villagio and Landmark and at Central Café for QR200.
After Doha, Pomeranz will next enthrall London and Tennessee later next month and Sydney, Australia in August.
