Charity and spending Saturday, 20 August 2011 02:40

By Ramzi Al Saeed

A Muslim in the month of Ramadan has his hands full of wealth, he gives a lot, and trades with Allah in a successful business, he spends so that it will be spent on him, and he loves giving and spending, so all matter of a fasting person is good, and no wonder, every act of the son of Adam is rewarded as it is except fasting, it is for Allah and He will reward it a lot, because they fasted and spent and gave charity, it is a grace of Allah Almighty from a lot of graces for His slaves, and kindness to them that He created them and gave them their livelihood and ordered them to spend, in order to spare the reward for them in a day in which the money and sons will not benefit, except those who came to Allah with a healthy heart. The Creator Almighty is the richest and He promised him who gives in charity and fears Allah and testifies to the best to make smooth for him the path to bliss, as He threatened him who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, and gives the lie to the best, to make smooth for him the path to misery. It is the grace of Allah to His slaves and mercy to them, that He has prescribed for them a religion to bring them closer to Him and transfer them to His pleasure and a reason for entering paradise and being saved from the fire, and among what He prescribed for them and ordered them is to do good things, and spend from the wealth that Allah blessed them in order to recommend them and purify their morals and increase their wealth,  Allah says: (and do good so that you may be successful.)

In fact Allah has promised those who do good to reward them on their works completely and He will increase it many times  at a time when they will urgently need it, so the Muslim fears Allah Almighty and thanks Him for what He has given him from the blessings and spends from what Allah has blessed him with, because he knows that for him is only what He gave, he spends his money in his life in the ways of charity and goodness, in charities and establishment of charitable projects, and beneficial endowments and in custody of orphans and in feeding the hungry and  helping the needy and in helping the insolvent and feeding fasting people, all this he will find in front of him and find its reward saved with Allah in double and many times more; it is his real wealth, which will remain for him and he will take its benefit, when his ownership in other things is limited under such circumstances of  health and integrity of thought. The human being is created with the love of money, and he is keen to collect it, he hits in the walks of earth seriously in search of wealth, and he has strong inspiration for richness, though if he was given all that is on earth, and if he had the cabinets of high mercy, his heart could not volunteer to spend from it with capacity, and there could be a lot of reasons from his narrow nature to put the chains in his hands.

But the principles of Islam and its values guide human being kindly to try to convince himself that his strong love for money and wealth may cause him destruction, and if he thought in the fact of what he possesses and its consequences he will believe that generosity is better than selfishness, and giving is better than miserliness, and it is wonderful that the human suffers in collecting what he has to leave for someone else. Islam is a religion that trains its followers in giving and spending, therefore Islam urged followers that their souls should be generous and palms should be giving, and urged to rush to the ways of charity and goodness, and that they should do goodness to the people and make it their permanent job, not avoid it in the morning or evening, and the human should believe while spending his money,  that what he is spending will benefit him a lot. A sincere Muslim spends his wealth, having belief that  Allah Almighty will give him by what he spends from his money in this world  growth, blessings and successor, but if the scarcity overcomes and he holds his hands from giving, Allah will test him  in his wealth with decrease, loss and damage, our Prophet, peace be upon him, spoke about the virtue of spending and charity in the way of Allah, and its fruits and effects, and the thing that charity does not reduce money, rather it increases it by the blessings of spending and giving,  the Prophet’s guidance is always keen to consolidate the virtue of generosity in the hearts of Muslims, and to make it among the virtues which the Muslims race and compete to exercise them.  THE PENINSULA
