Positive thinking Wednesday, 24 August 2011 02:36

By Ramzi Al Saeed

The human mind in Ramadan does always good. You will find it always loving goodness and doing a lot of it. It knows the value of the positivity. The positivity is that the believer should be optimistic and does not lose hope. He feels the universe beautiful, especially during fasting, when Muslims are a good example to others.

This is a feature of the members of this Ummah. Our Ummah is one nation and is a leader because of its strong doctrine and solid faith, and because it pursues the intermediate and moderation in the affairs of life of this world and hereafter. No intransigence attitude and stress can make disorder in the midst of it,  and no indiscipline and loose can turn it down.

With its positivity, it can carry the banner of leadership. It realises the arising dangers that surround it. It works hard to maintain its integrity and stability, and to achieve greatness and progress. All who live in the world realise that the Nation of Islam is wide and rich of experience.

A man who grew up on the teachings of Islam becomes very keen to benefit the people in his community and to be an active member in the body of this nation that grows by forearms of its members. He raises the dignity of his nation, and removes harm from it.

By his composition and upbringing on the principles of the truth, goodness, virtue and values, he becomes a useful, constructive and effective component, he can not see the opportunity to do good  without seizing it, and he knows that doing good deeds leads to success.

So he rushes to do good, believing the reward of Allah for him in every step he takes in doing good. Fasting gives strength to him.

He is positive, working on reconciliation between two disputing parties and treating them with justice. It is a charity and reward for him. He helps a man to hold him  on his animal, or lifts his luggage. These are charities. Even the good word is charity, and each step he takes for prayer is charity, and removing harm from the road is charity.

The Islamic culture prints the personality of the individual with a particular nature that distinguishes him from others. The unique features that characterise a Muslim are faith, piety, devotion, humility for Allah, obedience, patience, forbearance, hope, expectation, trust and reliance on Allah Almighty.

So the  Muslim grows up on helping those in need, forgiving his enemies, fulfilling covenant and contracts.

Therefore, the importance of the positive highlights is the thing that achieves religious and social aspects, so it is an achievement  of invitation to the goodness and the promotion of virtue and prevention of the evil. The person who is positive focuses on how to work and build and how to keep away from any act that corrupts and destroys.

He neglects himself and the victory for himself, and his concern and aim become higher, a community which members are characterised by it will achieve a great righteousness  a wonderful achievement, because the person who has positivity stimulates and encourages rather than discouraging and frustrating.

He has an optimistic outlook, and promises and does not have a pessimistic outlook, such person is acceptable to Allah as well as to the people, because his main concern is not hunting mistakes of others but rather reform. It is a great degree where the positive human reaches and forgets himself and his feelings and main concern becomes others and the reform of society as much as he could.

This act upgrades the soul to a highest status, and raises the spirit beyond the limited frame of the human, and beyond the narrow restrictions of earth. When I speak of the positivity I mean by it the positive impact on ourselves and on others.
