Manila: The Philippines’ bachelor president, Benigno Aquino, confirmed yesterday that he had put the fizz back into his love life by dating a South Korean media personality more than 20 years his junior.
“Well, we’re seeing each other, OK?” the Filipino leader, who turns 52 next week, told reporters when asked about rumours swirling in the local press about him dating Grace Lee.
29-year old Lee, who moved to the Philippines as a child, co-hosts a popular music radio programme in Manila as well as several television shows.
She has nearly 60,000 followers on Twitter.
Lee was also featured by the local edition of men’s magazine FHM as one of its “100 Sexiest Women of the World” in 2010.

Two soldiers killed in clash with rebels
MANILA: At least two soldiers were killed while another was wounded as they clashed with leftist rebels yesterday in the central Philippine province of Negros Occidental, an Army official said.
Colonel Isabelo Delos Reyes, spokesman for the military’s 303rd Brigade, said those killed in the gun battle in the village of Andres Bonifacio, Cadiz City were identified as Private First Class Ryan Toledo and Nazario Buenavides Jr.
Delos Reyes said troops were on foot patrol mission when they encountered around 20 New Peoples Army (NPA) rebels, killing the two soldiers.
The NPA, the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines, has been waging a guerrilla campaign in the countryside for more than four decades.
The Philippine military estimates more than 4,000 NPA guerrilla fighters are scattered in over 60 provinces throughout the Southeast Asian country.
