Doha: Qatar welcomed the United States call for a ceasefire in Yemen and considered it an encouraging step towards a political solution and an end to the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The Foreign Ministry said in a statement Thursday that Qatar provides full support for any efforts towards national reconciliation and towards ending this absurd war, which the brotherly Yemeni people are suffering from its scourges, on the basis of relevant Security Council resolutions, the Gulf Initiative and the outcomes of the national dialogue.
The statement reiterated Qatar's firm stance which is keen on Yemen's unity, independence and territorial integrity, calling on State actors in the international community to help the brotherly Yemeni people and take all necessary measures to address the grave humanitarian situation and to ensure the access of humanitarian aids to all areas in Yemen.
