Qatar Post launches home delivery of post and parcel

Qatar Post (Q-Post) launched its much-anticipated home delivery service allowing customers to have their post directly delivered to their homes.This new service covers both letters and parcels and is available to all personal post box subscribers, with choice of delivery from one to six days a week, Q-Post said in statement.
Currently all customers collect their mail from the post box during working hours of Qatar Post branches across the country. With the new service named Home Delivery, personal post box subscribers can receive their letters and parcels at home at their convenience with a high degree of flexibility.
Home Delivery is the last of a series of new products and services to be launched in the coming months, following a holistic modernisation process of postal services.
With 27,000 registered personal post boxes and a rising demand, there is a strong growth potential for Home Delivery. Home Delivery is a highly secure, consistent and private postal service: to insure all mails are kept safe and the securely to home addresses of each post box subscriber.
Hassan Al Otaibi, Deputy Director of Retails & Customers said: “Qatar Post is ‘striving’ to offer best-in-class postal service across the country. This new service is the first in Qatar and marks the beginning of our new journey to boost our retail offering, in line with our transformation strategy."

According to information posted on Q-Post website, home delivery service charges vary with the frequency of delivery: QR500 per year will be charged in case of one time delivery in a week, QR1500 for three times delivery in a week and QR3000 for six times home delivery in a week. In 2015, the Government launched an initiative to transform Qatar’s postal sector with the vision to provide 21st century postal services to each citizen’s and each business’ door step while fostering ICT use and integrating Qatar in global trade and supply chains.
Qatar Post is currently going through an intense transformation phase from a brand, products and services perspective, aimed at turning Qatar Post into a world-class postal operator by embracing the digital age, a modern economy and a changing society, said the statement.
