Katara restaurants’ home delivery service launched

The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has announced the launch of Katara Restaurants for Home Delivery service in accordance with the highest health and safety standards in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
With the launch of the service, foodies can now order and have their favourite cuisines from restaurants located in Katara such as Le Vesuvio, Marsa Katara, Sukar Pasha, L’wazaar, Bayt El Talleh, and Chac’Late delivered to their homes via food ordering applications Talabat, gorafeeq and Snoonu.
The announcement came in line with the measures being taken by the country to fight the spread of the pandemic, and based on Katara’s keenness on the health and safety of the community, Katara has said in a statement.
Over the past two weeks, Katara has redoubled  its efforts on a daily basis to ensure the highest standards for its restaurants by implementing intensive hygiene and sterilization guidelines, Katara added. 
It has launched a series of precautionary and preventive measures aimed at maintaining the safety of citizens and residents, announcing that Katara restaurants have implemented a set of additional measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
To this end, strict measures are being applied with regard to kitchen hygiene such as wearing face masks, gloves and protective clothing and social distancing for restaurant crew and food handlers in addition to intensive sterilization of cookware and utensils and the best practices in cooking methods and food preparation.
A video uploaded on Katara’s social media sites showed how the restaurants adhere to highest safety standards  from how the food is packed until it is delivered to their customers. It shows how each dish is packaged and sealed with adhesive tape and placed inside a plastic container then packed in a closed box which is inserted in a plastic container which is again sealed with an adhesive tape. When receiving the delivery, the customer peels off the seal and takes the box from the plastic ensuring cleanliness and safety of the food.
Katara restaurant’s food delivery service runs from 12 noon till midnight.
Meanwhile, Katara has launched a series of activities and competitions through its social media accounts in lieu of the events and activities which had been cancelled due to COVID-19 outbreak. They include writing, mobile video and art competitions in addition to entertainment, informative and educational materials as well as stories for children.
