The Qatar-Nigeria Business Council (QNBC) welcomes the arrival of H E Yakubu Abdullahi Ahmed, the new Nigerian Ambassador to Qatar, and hopes that he will strengthen ties between the two energy producing countries.

QNBC is an organisation founded to promote investment between Nigeria and Qatar.

QNBC Chairman Eng. Olu Millar emphasised that with the support and guidance of this accomplished diplomat, there will be an improvement in Qatar-Nigeria bilateral relationship and prospects for development in all sectors, particularly in economic, investment, energy, agriculture, and infrastructure. Millar said: “We warmly welcome our new ambassador and are looking forward to working together to explore and promote areas of economic cooperation between Nigeria and the State of Qatar.”

Millar said that the QNBC office in Qatar would play an essential role in strengthening Qatar-Nigeria economic ties, including business relations between the private sectors of both countries.

He added that the Doha office would advance the QNBC’s objectives by assisting Qatar’s business community in understanding the council’s role in advancing the Qatar-Nigeria commercial and investment relationship.

Millar went on to say that there are activities planned for Nigerian investors to meet investors in Qatar and exchange interests, and vice versa.

“The council intends to host in-person and virtual business summits to showcase what both countries have to offer to investors and businesses as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral trade ties with Qatar,” he added.
