Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) recently announced the launch of the Business Guidance and Establishment Office, an initiative aimed at simplifying the business setup process and providing investors and entrepreneurs with dedicated support throughout their investment journey.
Business leaders have welcomed the move, saying that having a dedicated guidance office could significantly reduce uncertainty, particularly for first-time entrepreneurs and foreign investors navigating regulatory procedures.
“For anyone starting a business, understanding the right procedures is often one of the biggest challenges,” said a tech startup founder. “Having a dedicated office where investors can receive guidance and ask questions directly should make the process more transparent and efficient. It demonstrates the government’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business.”
According to information shared by the Ministry on X, the office will serve as a central point of contact for investors seeking guidance on company formation procedures, responding to inquiries related to business establishment, directing customers to the appropriate government services, and providing support throughout various stages of business establishment and development.
Foreign investor Kavya V, who is exploring opportunities in Qatar’s professional services sector, said centralised guidance would make investment decisions easier.
“One of the most important factors for international investors is knowing where to go for accurate information,” she said. “A single office that provides direction and connects investors with the right government services can save valuable time and increase confidence during the early stages of establishing a company.”
The initiative comes as Qatar continues to strengthen its business environment by streamlining government services and improving accessibility for investors seeking to establish new ventures or expand existing operations.
Doha-based entrepreneur Mohammed, who recently expanded his small business, underscored that the initiative could particularly benefit startups.
“Many entrepreneurs have strong business ideas but are unfamiliar with licensing requirements or the sequence of approvals needed,” he said. “Receiving practical guidance from a specialised office could help businesses avoid unnecessary delays and focus more on growth.”
Among the services offered by the office are guidance on company establishment procedures, answering investors’ inquiries, providing ongoing support during different phases of business development, and directing clients to the relevant services needed to complete licensing and registration requirements efficiently.
The launch aligns with Qatar’s broader efforts to foster entrepreneurship, encourage private sector participation, and attract both domestic and international investment.
By providing personalised guidance and directing investors to the appropriate government services, the Business Guidance and Establishment Office is expected to make the process of starting and developing businesses more accessible and efficient.
MoCI has invited investors and entrepreneurs to visit the new office in Lusail for guidance and support on establishing their businesses and to receive answers to inquiries related to company formation procedures.
