Qatar Airways and Rolls-Royce, one of the airline’s major strategic partners, hosted a successful training programme yesterday as part of the award-winning airline’s Al Darb Qatarisation programme, an initiative that develops young talent to become the future leaders of the national carrier.
During the interactive workshop, which took place at the Oryx Rotana Hotel in Doha, the group explored various engineering activities that take place at aero-engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce and looked at how the company’s latest engine technologies are generating maximum value and lower operating costs.
The workshop, which was delivered by Rolls-Royce professionals, was attended by National employees as well as a wider group of pilots, engineers, graduate developees and their coaches. The session also looked ahead at the exciting opportunities for the future development of engine technology, including the availability of new materials, digital technologies, data and analytics.
Qatar Airways Senior Vice-President Human Resources, Nabeela Fakhri, said, “We are delighted with our ongoing strong strategic partnership with Rolls-Royce. This partnership connects our employees with some of the world’s best aviation experts, equips them with the skills and knowledge they need, and inspires them to become the future leaders of our award-winning airline.
“At Qatar Airways, we are fully committed to delivering the very best training and development programmes for our graduate developees in line with the Qatar National Vision. A senior Rolls-Royce spokesman said: “This event was a real demonstration of the enduring partnership between Qatar Airways and Rolls-Royce, which is underpinned by learning and developing together. It was particularly important to host this event in Doha, which enabled us to engage with a wide audience of graduates and share with them the insights from one of our leading engineers.
“We greatly appreciate the ongoing collaboration and the two-way learning that stems from such events and look forward to continuing our support for the Al Darb programme and the wider achievement of the Qatar National Vision.”
