Doha, Qatar: The Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs concluded its annual summer programme, which attracted more than 1,100 students across throughout Qatar.
“Our Summer, Our Way 2026” programme was held from July 5 to July 30 and it targeted boys aged 10 to 15 across 10 Da’wah centres throughout Qatar.
The initiative reflected the Ministry’s commitment to making productive use of the summer break by instilling Islamic values, developing life skills, strengthening understanding of Quranic concepts and identifying young talents. It forms part of the Ministry’s strategic vision to build well-rounded personalities that combine knowledge, values and practical skills, preparing a generation capable of contributing positively to society’s development.
The programme provided an engaging educational environment that balanced learning with enjoyment while addressing the needs of this age group and encouraging positive interaction within family and society.
A key addition to this year’s edition was the introduction of three specialised skills courses in public speaking, Islamic chanting (Inshad), and the call to prayer (Adhan).
During the closing ceremony Educational Expert at the Ministry, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al Farjabi highlighted the importance of the “Our Summer, Our Way” programme in helping young people make productive use of their holidays while strengthening their faith and developing essential life skills.
He described the initiative as a significant educational milestone in the lives of participating students and thanked parents for encouraging their children to take part in beneficial programmes and courses, praising their role in supporting the Ministry’s educational and faith-based mission.
This year’s summer programme offered an integrated package of educational, academic and skills-development activities designed to meet the needs of young participants and nurture different aspects of their personalities.
The curriculum focused on important Quranic concepts, particularly the rulings and values derived from Surat An-Nur and Surat Al-Hujurat, alongside practical moral and social values relevant to daily life. These included honouring parents, mosque etiquette, the importance of time management, respect for elders, proper interaction with others and the responsible use of social media.
The diversity of Quranic, educational, skills-based, sports and recreational activities was a key factor behind the programme’s success, creating an engaging environment that enhanced both students’ learning and personal development.
The closing ceremony was attended by parents who joined their children in celebrating their achievements.
Head of the Religious Guidance Section, Muath Yousef Al Qasimi honoured outstanding students who participated in the “Our Summer, Our Way” programme.
He also recognised the programme’s partner organisations for their contribution to its success, namely Al Khor Sports Club, Al Ahli Sports Club, and the Ministry’s Scholarships Department.
