ICAI Doha, Kuwait chapters hold leadership conclave

The Doha & Kuwait chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) jointly organized Leadership Conclave with two thoughtprovoking motivational sessions, which saw nearly 200 participants comprising of the Doha & Kuwait chapter members, dignitaries & members from many other countries, attending via virtual platform.

The event was also live on YouTube. CA Nirlep Bhatt & CA Deepak Bindal, Chairpersons of the Doha & Kuwait chapters respectively, gave the introductory speeches and welcomed the audience, in the first joint event of Doha & Kuwait chapters of the ICAI. The idea of the joint event was to provide the learning & networking opportunities to members of both the vibrant chapters of the ICAI, with an increased collaboration & participation.

CA Prafulla Chhajed, Past President of the ICAI also graced the event with his presence and appreciated the innovative planning of the joint event with relevant topics & celebrated personalities. CA Gyanesh Tibrewal, introduced the first speaker Mr. Madan Lal, renowned former cricketer & coach of the Indian cricket team who played the pivotal role in India’s historic victory in 1983 cricket world cup. Mr. Madan Lal spoke on a motivational topic “Nothing is Impossible”, in which he inspired the audience to adopt disciplined life-style with healthy diet and regular exercise.

Citing the selfexample & example of the World Cup Winning Indian Cricket team in 1983, he also emphasized that the self-belief & teamwork are the keys to achieve success in any sport. Further, he inspired the audience to combine talent with passion, discipline & hard-work, in order to achieve success.

CA Kamlesh Tibrewal conducted the Q&A session. CA Vignesh Kalyanaraman introduced the second speaker. Dr. Anil Khandelwal, Former Chairman of the Bank of Baroda & Dena Bank, who spoke on “becoming a Transformational Leader”. He mentioned that the transformational leader is someone who dares to change the status quo, primarily through resetting the people & processes. With the help of leadership ladder, Dr. Khandelwal explained the essential ingredients of the leadership – Higher vision, Passion for change, strong adherence to the ethics and being transparent about the feedback.

Dr. Anil further explained the main role of transformational leader which is to create culture of excellence, empowerment & engagement. He explained the leadership Tree in an innovative manner with various types of the fitness – Physical, Emotional, Professional, Ethical & Spiritual fitness. CA Tuhin Chaturvedi conducted the Q&A session.

The event was opened by CA Andaleeb and vote of thanks was proposed by CA Ankit Agarwal, who gave concluding remarks & also offered the gratitude to the esteemed speakers, sponsors, dignitaries & members. The members of both the chapters & overseas chapter leaders provided generous and encouraging feedbacks about the star speakers, thoughtful topics & conduct of event.
