Moscow: At least two people were killed in Russia's Belgorod Oblast in a Ukrainian drone attack.

Governor of Belgorod Oblast, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said in a post on the messaging app Telegram that a woman had been hospitalized with injuries.

He added that a family of three had come under attack by a Ukrainian drone while inside their car in the village of Nechayevka, less than five miles from the Russian-Ukrainian border.

Authorities in the Russian-controlled part of the Zaporizhzhia region in southeastern Ukraine reported earlier that one person was killed in a separate drone strike in the small town of Kamianka-Dniprovska.

Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, both Russia and Ukraine have issued near-daily accounts of battlefield developments and affected areas. Because of the conditions of the war and the nature of the fighting, such claims are often difficult to verify independently.
