Doha: The Qatari Forum for Authors have launched a set of publications covering various aspects of culture and knowledge.

The new publications were launched at Bait Al Hikma (House of Wisdom) of the Ministry of Culture and Sports. This year’s editions exceed 160 diversified publications, covering various fields.

Among the launched books was Social Responsibility and its Role in the Development and Stability of Societies by Dr. Hala Al Saeed, an autism consultant and director of the Doha International Center for Special needs, QNA reported.

During the inauguration session moderated by Maryam Yassin Al Hammadi, Director General of the Forum, Dr. Hala Al Saeed said, “I designed a special curriculum for special needs entitled (Social Responsibility), along with many initiatives in social responsibility, where I was selected among the 100 most influential Arab personalities in this field for two years in a row 2019-2020.”

She presented a summary of the book, stressing that social responsibility is an ethical theory that falls on all individuals and institutions that must be adhered to maintain a balance between the economy and environmental systems.

The book deals with social responsibility to spread awareness among members of society and discusses its nature, objectives, types and how to apply them, and the obstacles to its application. It highlights Qatar’s role in carrying out social responsibility at the local and international levels and Qatari women’s role, besides shedding light on work ethics, Al Saeed added.

“The book also deals with women and their role in social responsibility in raising children. It sheds light on the role of Qatari women, especially in times of crisis, and the interest of Qatari leaders in supporting women in Qatar, and motivating them to carry out their social burdens and participate in public life,” she added.
