Doha: beIN Media Group and its flagship sports channel beIN Sports will exclusively broadcast the UEFA Women’s Champions League (CL) for the first time to its viewers across 24 countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
The prestigious UEFA Women’s Champions League is part of beIN’s expanding women’s sports portfolio and its wider beINSPIRED corporate commitment, in which beIN showcases inspiring and under-represented sports and athletes, as well as developing business partnerships, events and creative campaigns all aimed at telling the most diverse and inspiring stories that sport has to offer. Most recently, beIN Sports has been showcasing female talent in Wimbledon, the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, W Series and the US Open, amongst other major sporting events.
Set to take place from tomorrow until May 22, 2022, this year’s Women’s CL will be the first edition to feature a 16-team group stage – with the final set to be held at the Juventus stadium in Turin, Italy.
The 16 teams taking part in this year’s League were drawn into four groups (Group A, B, C and D). European heavyweights and defending champions Barcelona are in Group C alongside Arsenal. Bayern Munich are in Group D alongside Lyon of France and Benfica of Portugal, while Paris Saint Germain are in Group B with Real Madrid.
Action kicks off tomorrow with Sweden’s Hacken taking on France’s Lyon at 19:45 MECCA. The game will be broadcast on beIN Sports Premium 1 for Arabic commentary and beIN Sports 1 for English commentary. Also tomorrow, Arsenal will be facing Barcelona at 22:00 MECCA on the same channels.
