Doha: The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Justice on Monday opened an office for Non-Qatari real estate ownership and use in Lusail city in order to provide real estate ownership and use servicers through one window for investors and dealers. A similar office was opened earlier in The Pearl-Qatar.
The office provides all the requirements for the sale and purchase of real estate, residential units and offices in the areas covered by Cabinet Resolution No. 28 of 2020, determining the areas in which non-Qataris may own and benefit from real estate, and the terms, conditions, benefits and procedures for their ownership and use of them.
The office enables the beneficiaries to obtain the title deed in less than an hour. It also provides, through an automated system created by the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Justice, the issuance of residency upon completion of the ownership or procedures, in case the property of the owner or the beneficiary is in the category whose value is not less than QR 730,000 (equivalent to $200,000), so that the owner of the property from this category obtains a residence permit for themselves and their family without a sponsor for the duration of their ownership of the property.
In addition to residency for them and their family, the owner of the property or the beneficiary will also receive permanent residency benefits that include health, education and investment in some commercial activities, if the property value is not less than QR 3,650,000 (equivalent to $1m).
During the inauguration of the office, Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi reviewed the workflow of the office and the procedures in place to provide services in accordance with the quality and efficiency standards set by the competent authorities as part of the procedures for launching the office.
His Excellency thanked the government and private agencies, especially the Ministry of Interior and the Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, which contributed to providing the required facilities, which aim to support the national development process and establish an integrated investment infrastructure that constitutes a catalyst and true support for the national economy.
He said on this occasion that the State of Qatar today enjoys the best environment for real estate investment supported by an integrated legal system that includes various economic and investment fields. He added that the Lusail office will constitute a qualitative addition to the services provided by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Interior in Lusail, in addition to the services provided by the Pearl Office, which constitutes a new window for providing real estate ownership services and benefiting easily. These offices will also contribute to the implementation of the objectives of Cabinet Resolution No. 28 of 2020 in accordance with an integrated vision with the National Development Strategy 2017-2022 and the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
