The Ministry of Municipality and Environment represented by General Cleanliness Department participated in the Paperless Day initiative, in coordination with Elite Paper Recycling Company to protect the environment. The initiative aims at promoting better paper saving habits for the long-term in an effort to reduce impact on the environment, said the Ministry in a statement.
The initiative included encouraging environmentally friendly practices, rationalising paper consumption, activating the role of paper container in departments and municipalities.
The objective of the initiative is also to support and strengthen the community partnership between the administration and the leading local companies in the field of paper recycling.
During this day, employees and their families were encouraged to collect and dispose of papers, cartons, and publications in homes and offices, avoid printing, consuming papers, and adopting electronic devices and systems.
The waste paper collected in the container was also delivered to a representative of Elite Paper Recycling Company for recycling.
