Doha: InterContinental Doha The City has welcomed Anne Busfield as General Manager, overseeing the operations of the iconic hotel in the heart of West Bay.

With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Anne brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise gained during her various positions across the globe. 

Having worked with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts since 2014, Anne is no stranger to the IHG  family. Before this appointment, Anne was in Osaka holding the position of Area General Manager at ANA Crowne Plaza Osaka and ANA Crowne Plaza Chitose.

Throughout her career that has spanned over three decades, she held different leadership roles and worked her way up through various hotel brands based in Australia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Brunei, Thailand, Fiji, and Japan. Starting her career as Hospitality Executive at Lancaster London, she later transitioned to Sales Manager and continued exploring new challenges in many roles such as Regional Director of Marketing, Corporate Director of Marketing, Hotel Manager, and for the past 18 years as General Manager.

Recognised for her passion and commitment, Anne will lead the InterContinental Doha The City team to achieve strategic growth and revenue and further enhance guest experience to ensure the hotel becomes the preferred choice of travellers in the region. 

Speaking of the appointment, Anne said, “Becoming part of this amazing team is a wonderful opportunity for me. The quality of the service, hotel and the team is second to none. I’m thrilled that I can use my experience to deliver true hospitality. On a global front, Qatar is in the spotlight with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and this is a crucial year for the hospitality industry as well as the country alike, which makes it an exciting time to be here.”
