Doha: Teach For Qatar and ExxonMobil Qatar renew their five year partnership agreement to reflect their commitment to positively impact the education sector in Qatar.
ExxonMobil Qatar has been a proud partner of Teach For Qatar and aims to support Teach For Qatar’s efforts to recruit, select, and train exceptionally talented individuals and reinvest them into the government school system.
Teach For Qatars chairperson, H E Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani along with the organization’s CEO Nasser Yousef Al Jaber held a meeting with Dominic Genetti, President and General Manager of ExxonMobil Qatar to discuss the renewal of their partnership as well as to outline further areas of collaboration in the upcoming period.
Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al-Thani mentioned: “ExxonMobil continues to be a main contributor to our organization in many aspects and we are proud to extend our partnership to further impact the community”.
Overall, Teach For Qatars Fellows were able to impact more than 18,500 students in the government schools. With the support of its partners, Teach For Qatar was able to train more than 220 Fellows who have contributed to Qatars education system and out of six cohorts 155 have already completed their two-year Leadership Journey.
CEO of Teach For Qatar, Nasser Yousef Al Jaber commented: “ExxonMobil Qatar has been supporting Teach For Qatar since its launch in 2014 and have continued to provide the Fellows with valuable training opportunities in business, program and teacher training.” He continues: “The company grants our Fellows and Alumni access to Qatar University ExxonMobils Teacher Academy (QUEMTA) which aims to equip science and math teachers with invaluable skills and techniques to teach stem subjects. “We would like to thank ExxonMobil Qatar’s continued support which has helped positively impact student learning in our community.”
The renewed partnership allows Teach For Qatar to continue their efforts in providing high quality leadership and teacher training to the Fellows who currently teach four subjects, Math, English, Science, and Arabic to primary and preparatory levels in government schools around the country.
“Today I had the honor of joining Sheikha Hind Bint Hamad to announce that ExxonMobil Qatar will extend its collaboration with Teach For Qatar as a supporting partner,” said President and General Manager for ExxonMobil Qatar Dominic Genetti. “This strategic partnership ties in with our ongoing efforts at ExxonMobil to help Qatar achieve its National Vision 2030 through initiatives such as the development of leaders, education support, environmental research, and carbon management.”
“For the next five years, we will continue to work as partners in helping Qatari teachers acquire new instructional strategies and teaching tools so that they can build the skill base of our youth and provide the solid foundation needed to promote Qatar’s sustainable development and future growth,” he added.
Teach For Qatar and ExxonMobil Qatar continue to work together closely to further outline areas of collaboration and remain committed to supporting Qatar’s ongoing development.
