Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) signed yesterday a cooperation agreement with Al-Ahli Sports Club, with a view to supporting humanitarian initiatives in Qatar, exchanging experience, and promoting a culture of voluntary and charitable work among athletes.

The pact was signed by Eng. Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Malki, CEO of QRCS, and Abdullah Yousef Al-Mulla, Chairman of Al-Ahli SC. The signing ceremony was attended by Muna Fadel Al-Sulaiti, Executive Director of Volunteering and Local Development Division at QRCS, and Aref Abdulrahman Al-Abdullah, General Manager of Al-Ahli SC. “This partnership builds on QRCS’s endeavors over its four decades, seeking to create a network of strategic relations with government and other organizations in Qatar,” said Eng. Al-Malki.

“We believe in the importance of sharing efforts, ideas, and resources, in pursuit of the ideals of corporate social responsibility (CSR)”. He added, “The coronavirus pandemic necessitates concerted efforts from all organizations. As an integral part of the Qatari society, it is our responsibility to have solid relations with different components of society. We share the same concerns and goals of advancing the community and improving individual conditions of living, guided by Qatar National Vision 2030”. Al-Mulla said he was glad to sign this memorandum of understanding (MoU) with QRCS.

“We pay great attention to serving society and its organizations,” he stated. “Sports clubs should have an effective role through their community service programs”. As emphasized by him, Al-Ahli SC is open to sharing all its resources with QRCS to organize any event. He sees this bilateral collaboration as having a positive impact on society, with sports, social, and other programs. “We hold CSR as an essential value,” he concluded.
