Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced the opening of its electronic application system for professional licenses for teachers, coordinators and school leaders, with applications being accepted from September 3 to 10.
Applicants can submit their requests through the dedicated Professional Licensing System available on the Ministry’s official website.
The Ministry said the targeted categories include teachers, coordinators, kindergarten deputy principals for administrative affairs, deputy principals for academic affairs, deputy principals for administrative and student affairs, and school principals.
The professional licensing system is considered a key pillar of the Ministry’s efforts to develop educational and school leadership personnel and promote a culture of professional excellence. It is based on clear standards designed to assess actual professional practices, as well as educational and professional competencies.
According to the Ministry, professional licenses are awarded following a comprehensive and rigorous assessment of the real-world professional practices, educational competencies, capabilities and skills of employees in teaching and leadership positions. The assessment is conducted according to specific requirements and standards for each professional level, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
The Ministry stressed that investing in teacher development represents a direct investment in the quality of education and its outcomes, given the teacher’s central role in the educational process.
Enhancing teachers’ professional competencies, it added, has a positive impact on student achievement, the effectiveness of the school environment and the quality of educational outcomes. Such efforts support Qatar’s broader objectives of building a high-quality education system capable of preparing skilled and qualified generations for the future.
The Ministry further highlighted that the professional licensing system reflects its commitment to advancing the teaching profession and establishing standards of quality and professional excellence.
By strengthening the competencies of educators and school leaders, the system is expected to contribute to improving the efficiency of Qatar’s education sector, enhancing its competitiveness and supporting the achievement of national development objectives.
