The Water Security Mega Reservoirs Project is one of the largest of its kind in the world.
The mega reservoirs are being built along with integrated pumping stations including more than 650 km of interconnecting water pipelines.
Deputy Amir H H Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani launched the first phase of water pumping of the strategic mega reservoirs project in Al Thumama last July.
It is worth mentioning that this project comes within the State’s plans and efforts to increase the strategic water storage and meet water needs at all areas.
It is considered the backbone of water security in the State in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and Kahramaa’s mission of providing high quality and sustainable electricity and water for better living in Qatar
