Doha: The State of Qatar has strongly condemned the targeting of a relief convoy operated by the World Food Programme in North Kordofan state in the sisterly Republic of the Sudan, considering it an egregious violation of international humanitarian law principles.
A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday stressed the urgent need to protect those operating in the humanitarian field and ensure that aid flows sustainably to those in need in the state.
In addition, the ministry reiterated the State of Qatar's call for combined regional and global efforts to end the war through peaceful means. It also reaffirmed the State of Qatar's full support for the unity, sovereignty, and stability of Sudan, emphasizing that it stands by the brotherly people of Sudan in achieving their aspirations for peace, development, and prosperity.
