Indonesian President calls Israel to end colonization of Palestine

Jakarta: President of Indonesia Joko Widodo Monday called on Israel to immediately end its colonization of Palestine.
"Israel must end its illegal activities and policies in the occupied territories. Indonesia and the Islamic world stands ready to take concrete actions to urge Israel to end its colonization to Palestine," Widodo said in his opening remarks at Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) extraordinary summit, currently underway in Jakarta.
"I thank you for your support and contribution to Palestine, your country, in these difficult circumstances and we are confident that this Honorable summit will support everything that involves our Palestinian people," Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said in his speech.
Leaders of Islamic countries during the summit, which was organized at the request of the Palestinian Authority, plans to discuss the deteriorating situation in the Palestinian territories and to reaffirm their support for the independence of Palestine.
Representatives of 49 OIC member states are taking part in the summit.
