Chinese delegation visits Katara

Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti met yesterday with representatives of China International Club to discuss ways to enhance mutual cooperation and organise cultural and artistic events aimed to build communication bridges between Qatari and Chinese cultures.
The Chinese delegation comprised some of the most prominent Chinese international figures in areas of art, culture and investment.
The delegation expressed their admiration of Katara as they toured the Cultural Village and were briefed on the various cultural and artistic events which aims at building communication bridges between people from all walks of life.
Dr Al Sulaiti stressed that the cultural projects suggested by the Chinese delegates will be considered to offer the public high-profile artistic and cultural events. He noted that Katara previously hosted many Chinese events, including Silk Road Exhibition, Arabic Calligraphy Workshop and Exhibition, as well as the Chinese folkloric performances during several occasions.
The China International Club is one of the most significant clubs in the world with 20 members who are senior investors from China and abroad. Its honorary members include former presidents of states and ministers, including former US presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. China Club also oversees an art exhibition for the most famous Chinese artists in Chicago.
