Porto: French President Emmanuel Macron called on the United States to lift all restrictions imposed on the export of vaccines and vaccine components against coronavirus (COVID-19).

In the EU Summit press conference in Porto, Portugal, Macron urged the US to end the export ban not only for vaccines but also for the vaccine ingredients that prevent production.

The key to producing vaccines faster for poor and intermediate countries is to produce more, the French leader added. Rich countries should make their vaccines available to the least developed countries, he explained.

Two days ago, the US announced its support for lifting patents on COVID-19 vaccines.
