Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has launched the 2026 edition of its annual summer programme, “Our Summer, Our Way” (Sayfuna Ala Kaifina 2026), welcoming more than 1,000 students across 10 Da’wah centers nationwide as part of its efforts to make productive use of the summer holiday by strengthening Islamic values, developing life skills, and nurturing young talent.
Organised by the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance, the programme runs from July 5 to July 30, 2026, targeting boys aged 10 to 15 years. The initiative aims to provide an engaging educational environment that combines learning with recreation while promoting religious awareness, positive behaviour, and personal development.
Held from Sunday to Wednesday, between 8am and 11am, the daily four-hour programme offers a comprehensive schedule of educational, spiritual, recreational, and interactive activities. Participants receive instruction in Quranic concepts and Islamic values, practical worship training, life skills workshops, interactive competitions, sports activities, educational trips, and incentive-based awards designed to encourage creativity and excellence.
A new feature of this year’s edition is the introduction of three specialised skills courses in public speaking, Islamic chanting (Inshad), and the call to prayer (Adhan). The ministry said the additions are intended to identify and develop promising talents while strengthening students’ communication skills, self-confidence, artistic appreciation, and mastery of Islamic practices.
Head of the Religious Guidance Section Muath Yousef Al Qasimi said the summer programme continues to offer an integrated package of educational, religious, and skills-based activities tailored to the developmental needs of young participants.
He explained that the curriculum emphasises Quranic teachings, particularly lessons drawn from Surahs An-Nur and Al-Hujurat, alongside values such as honouring parents, observing mosque etiquette, respecting elders, managing time effectively, practicing good manners, and using social media responsibly.
Al Qasimi added that students also receive practical instruction on acts of worship, including ablution and other essential Islamic practices, through simplified and interactive teaching methods that reinforce correct application of religious teachings.
The programme also includes educational and recreational field trips organised in cooperation with several national institutions, including the Lekhwiya Internal Security Force and the ministry’s Scholarship Department, helping students broaden their knowledge and strengthen their connection with national institutions.
At the Mohammed bin Hamad Al Mana Mosque Center in Al Waab, more than 120 students have enrolled, reflecting strong confidence among parents in the ministry’s summer initiatives.
