Doha: The Katara Cultural Village Foundation recently hosted the celebration of the Arab Republic of Egypt’s National Day by the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the State of Qatar.
The event was attended by General Manager of of Katara H E Professor Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, Ambassador of Egypt to Qatar H E Walid Fahmy Al Faqi, and a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers, Ambassadors, Heads and Representatives of Diplomatic Missions accredited to the State, as well as a select group of guests and those interested in cultural and diplomatic affairs. The event began with the national anthems of Qatar and Egypt.
H E Al Faqi, then delivered a speech in which he expressed his pride in the deep fraternal relations that bind the two countries, emphasizing the importance of national occasions in strengthening bridges of communication and understanding between peoples, and enhancing the bonds of friendship and cultural and civilisational cooperation.
The event also featured a documentary showcasing aspects of the Arab Republic of Egypt’s history, its achievements, and national milestones, highlighting its past and present. The audience warmly received the film, praising its content which reflected facets of Egyptian identity and cultural heritage.
The event fostered a festive atmosphere, reflecting the depth of relations between the two countries and providing a platform for interaction between diplomatic representatives, officials, and cultural figures. This fostered a spirit of dialogue, openness, and intercultural understanding.
