Doha: The State of Qatar participated yesterday in the sixth meeting of the Their Excellences GCC Ministers of Labour via videoconferencing.
The delegation was headed by Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Mohammed Hassan Al Obaidly.
The meeting discussed the decisions of the Supreme Council issued in the field of labour, and the vision of the General Secretariat regarding promoting joint Gulf action for the post-COVID-19, as well as presenting the strategy of joint work in the field of labour and manpower in the GCC countries 2020-2025.
During the meeting, the outcomes of G20 Employment Working Group meeting were reviewed, in addition to discussing international cooperation issues and issues presented to Arab and international meetings.
The Labor Ministers, moreover, turning to organising the relations and tasks between the General Secretariat of the GCC and the Executive Office of the Labour Ministers and Ministers of Social Affairs Offices , and discussed the draft budget of the Executive Office of GCC Labour Ministers for 2021.
It is noteworthy that preparatory meetings were held in advance, in the presence of a number of ministry officials and undersecretaries of the ministries of labor in the GCC countries.
