Ooredoo’s Inland Sea application has been nominated as the best national digital solution for Qatar for the World Summit Awards (WSA).
With this nomination, the Ooredoo Inland Sea app qualifies for evaluation by the WSA Online Jury 2017 among 391 international nominations. The WSA selects, showcases and promotes the world’s best digital innovation with impact on society.
Ooredoo’s Inland Sea app was the first-ever Qatar desert navigation app, and enables users to find out local dune names, stay safe at the touch of a button, and provide customers with important information, such as geography and terrain, camping sites, emergency numbers and Supernet signal towers, so that everyone can stay connected.
All WSA 2017 nominees will be evaluated based on seven fundamental criteria: content, functionality, design, technology, innovation, impact and global/UN value.
The WSA nominees are highly competitive and are selected carefully by the WSA National Experts from more than 178 UN member states.
The WSA National Experts nominate up to eight projects for each country – one for every WSA category.
