Doha, Qatar: The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), through the National Cyber Security Academy, has launched the 12th cohort of its ‘Fresh Graduates Training Camp’ as part of efforts to prepare and develop national talent for specialised careers in cybersecurity.
On its social media handles, the agency stated yesterday that the programme is designed to provide recent graduates with a strong foundation in cybersecurity and help them develop the technical and professional skills required to pursue careers in the rapidly evolving field.
The initiative combines theoretical learning with practical training, giving participants an opportunity to apply their knowledge in realistic cybersecurity environments.
According to the NCSA, the training camp focuses on strengthening participants’ technical capabilities and developing essential professional skills that can support their transition into specialised cybersecurity roles. Trainees will also be guided toward career paths within defensive or offensive cybersecurity teams, depending on their interests and capabilities.
The programme includes internationally recognised certification courses, realistic simulations, and practical exercises designed to expose participants to the challenges cybersecurity professionals face in real-world environments. The agency mentioned that such training is expected to help graduates build the expertise needed to identify, prevent and respond to cyber threats.
The launch of the 12th cohort reflects continued efforts by NCSA to expand the national cybersecurity talent pool and create a pipeline of qualified specialists capable of supporting organisations as cyber risks become increasingly complex.
Alongside the graduate-focused initiative, the agency also organised the first cohort of its ‘Cybersecurity Managers Program’, targeting department managers and professionals responsible for overseeing cybersecurity-related functions within their entities.
The managers programme takes a broader strategic approach, focusing on cybersecurity governance, risk oversight and the secure management of organisational data. It aims to equip managers with strategic frameworks and governance knowledge while providing practical skills to help them address cybersecurity responsibilities within their respective departments.
NCSA highlighted that the programme places emphasis on leadership capabilities, recognising that effective cybersecurity increasingly requires managers to integrate security considerations into broader organisational decision-making.
By strengthening leadership and governance skills, the initiative seeks to enable managers to oversee cybersecurity risks more effectively and promote stronger security practices across their enterprises.
While the ‘Fresh Graduates Training Camp’ focuses on developing the next generation of technical cybersecurity specialists, the ‘Cybersecurity Managers Program’ is aimed at strengthening the leadership and governance capabilities needed to manage cyber risks at an organisational level.
The combination of technical training, professional development, governance education and practical exercises highlights the importance of developing cybersecurity capabilities across multiple levels of the workforce. the agency noted.
