A specimen of 50 riyals issued by the Qatar and Dubai Monetary Council in 1966 during a colour experiment model will also go under the hammer.
Doha: Albahie Auction House will kick off the new year by hosting the ‘Mal Lawal’ auction today at 7:30 pm at Katara Cultural Village.
All the lots included in the auction are currently available for the preview exhibition at the auction house’s permanent exhibition space, Katara Cultural Village, Building 22C.
The auction will consist of 122 lots from the grace of old Qatari days, a fine collection chosen to remind people of a great time.
Some of the lots with a collection of timeless pieces include Lot 11, a specimen of 50 riyals issued by the Qatar and Dubai Monetary Council in 1966 during a colour experiment model, not exported in this colour. Considered as one of the rarities, lot 46 includes a luxurious necklace made of gold and pearl. It is a set of three pieces; a necklace, earrings, and a ring with a total weight of 60.5 grammes of gold.
Lot 68 consists of an antique Philips television with a wooden cabinet from the ’60s.
Lot 74 includes a board pictures of the outstanding students in the primary stage of Al-Gharafa Boys School for 1972–1973. Lot 79 has a brass medal of Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad issued on the occasion of the opening of the National Museum of Qatar in 1975 and Lot 101 has the driving license issued by the government of Qatar in 1965.
