Doha, Qatar: The National Planning Council (NPC), in cooperation with the Qatar Scientific Club of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and with the participation of Microsoft Qatar, organised the activities of the second edition of the Data Summer Camp 2026, from August 8 to 12, with the participation of about 40 high school students, male and female.

The camp aims to prepare a generation with future skills in data and digital transformation, in support of the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030), through an educational experience that combines theoretical knowledge and practical application over five days.

It also aims to raise awareness of the importance of data among high school students, introduce them to national and open data and the national data programme, and enable them to transform analytical results into applicable ideas and initiatives that contribute to addressing national challenges, and enhance their ability to employ digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) in supporting development and establishing a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Regarding the organisation of the summer data camp, Director of the Statistical and Data Training Center at NPC Hessa Ali Al Malki said that organising the camp reflects the NPC’s commitment to establishing a data culture among young people and preparing national cadres capable of using data to support development and decision-making.

She said that the Data Summer Camp is one of the quality initiatives that the NPC is keen to implement in cooperation with its partners, based on our belief that data has become a fundamental pillar in planning and public policy-making.

For her part, the supervisor of the Data Summer Camp programme, Eng. Hessa Al Najjar, said that the Qatar Scientific Club’s hosting of the camp comes within the framework of its efforts to build the capabilities of young people in the fields of science, technology and innovation, and to provide interactive educational environments.
