New York: The State of Qatar on Wednesday sent a message to HE António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, and HE Sangjin Kim, Chargé d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the month of September, regarding the cowardly Israeli attack that targeted residential buildings housing several members of the Hamas Political Bureau in the Qatari capital, Doha.

The message was delivered by HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations.

Qatar requested that the message be circulated among the members of the Security Council and issued as an official document of the Council. It was published under the number S/2025/563.

In the letter, Qatar expressed its strongest condemnation of this criminal assault, which constitutes a blatant violation of all international laws and norms, and a serious threat to the security and safety of Qataris and residents on its territory.

The letter also stressed that the security services, civil defense, and the relevant authorities immediately began dealing with the incident and taking the necessary measures to contain its repercussions and ensure the safety of residents and surrounding areas.

Qatar further emphasized that while it strongly condemns this attack, it affirms that it will not tolerate such reckless Israeli behavior and the ongoing tampering with regional security, or any act that targets its security and sovereignty. It added that investigations are ongoing at the highest level and that further details will be announced as soon as they become available.
