Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) is committed to promote digital transformation and advance its electronic services to support the country’s business environment and increase its attractiveness for domestic and foreign investments.
MoCI’s Single Window platform witnessed significant development with 13 new electronic services launched since the beginning of 2025 to streamline procedures and bring services closer to users.
The total number of transactions processed reached 72,500 until the third quarter of the last year, 89 percent of which were completed electronically through the Single Window platform. The customer satisfaction rate for these services reached 94 percent reflecting the growing trust of users in the platform.
It also raised compliance with service-level agreements with government entities to 83 percent.
The key achievement of the Commercial Affairs sector in last year shows an increase of 81.5 percent in the number of main and branch commercial records compared to the same period in 2024.
The proportion of active main and branch records increased by 18.1 percent, the total active commercial licenses rose by 6.79 percent, and the time required to establish a company was reduced to two days.
In 2026 the sector aims to focus on improving the efficiency of the investor journey and enhancing competitiveness by reducing company establishment timelines, increasing digital transformation rates, raising customer satisfaction with sector services, integrating additional entities into the Single Window to enhance government integration, and strengthening the protection of intellectual property rights.
During 2025, MoCI launched a package of key initiatives aimed at enhancing economic diversification, strengthening public–private partnerships, and supporting small and medium sized enterprises, in addition to accelerating digital transformation and adopting smart technologies across industries.
The initiatives focused on integrating sustainable development practices across various sectors, enhancing the protection of intellectual property, improving performance efficiency, and elevating the quality of institutional work and services provided.
These efforts come as part of the Ministry’s commitment to supporting Qatar’s Sustainable Development Goals and achieving balanced and inclusive economic growth, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Third National Development Strategy.
Last year also witnessed strengthening partnership with the private sector by launch of an electronic platform for joint projects between the public and private sectors.
The Ministry organised the Public–Private Sector Dialogue Forum to strengthen channels of dialogue and communication between the public and private sectors. This ensures the exchange of expertise and the development of the business environment contributing to the growth of wide-ranging economic sectors in the country’s trade sector
In line with the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to safeguard consumer rights and intensify inspection campaigns last year also saw more than 73,000 inspection operations carried out.
The Ministry facilitated corporate procedures through the issuance of specialised licenses and reduction of issuance period for specialised licenses which was reduced to one day. The number of Tamween beneficiaries increased by 2.61 percent.
Qatar has actively invested in developing its technological infrastructure to embrace emerging technologies keeping pace with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and attract more investment in this field.
