Doha: Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK) Automobiles, the authorised general distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Qatar, has launched the all-new E-class and revealed the brand new GLA along with the all-new seven-seater GLB at a special event held recently at the NBK Automobiles showroom on Salwa Road.
The launch event was attended by Sheikh Faleh bin Nawaf Al Thani, Managing Director, Auto at NBK Group, Ihab El Feky, Director at NBK Automobiles, other officials from NBK Automobiles and a number of representatives and influencers from the local media and social media respectively.
Speaking during the event, Sheikh Faleh said: “NBK Automobiles is proud to launch the all-new Mercedes-Benz fascinating cars as part of our strategic plans. We will continue to bring Qatar the best and latest innovation from the reputable international brand. Qatar is one of the main target markets for Mercedes-Benz, and the position of the brand indicates the close relations we have.”
El Feky added: “The E-Class was always at the heart of the Mercedes-Benz family, and today it is the most intelligent and sporty car in its category. We are pleased with the debut of a new joiner, the new seven-seater GLB that will redefine its category. The all-new E class shines with its fascinating design and state-of-the-art features, including a standard all-LED headlamps.
The three new paint colours come in high-tech silver metallic, graphite grey metallic and mojave silver metallic. The wheel line-up has also been expanded and now includes aero wheels, which also contribute to saving fuel and thus to sustainability.
The new E-Class Sedan is equipped with the latest Mercedes-Benz driving assistance systems providing cooperative support to drivers. It is also equipped with the latest generation of the MBUX multimedia system (Mercedes-Benz User Experience). As standard for the region, it includes two large 12.3 inch/31.2 cm screens that are arranged side by side for a widescreen look.
With its expressive coupé proportions, clear and sensual design and long-distance comfort for four people, the new E-Class Coupé combines the beauty and classic virtues of a grand tourer with state-of-the-art technology. It also offers the intelligence of the E-Class family with full Smartphone Integration, Widescreen Cockpit and the latest driver assistance systems with the option of, among other things, partially automated driving.
The new GLA’s character has been significantly reinforced compared with the previous model. The new GLA makes a further step in terms of safety courtesy of its driving assistance systems with cooperative driver support. The GLA is able to react when the driver doesn’t.
With powerful and efficient four-cylinder engines, the latest driving assistance systems with cooperative driver support, and the MBUX infotainment system with intuitive operation, the new model has all the strengths of the current generation of compacts from Mercedes-Benz.
The all-new Mercedes-Benz GLB is a versatile SUV and a spacious family car. It is the first Mercedes-Benz in this segment available as a seven-seater. The extensive safety equipment includes retractable head restraints, seat belts with belt tensioners, and a side window airbag which also protects the passengers in the third seat row plus ISOFIX and TOP-Tether anchorages for suitable child seats.
The GLB 250 4MATIC is equipped with the permanent all-wheel system 4MATIC, with fully-variable torque distribution. This sporty all-wheel drive configuration allows the driver to use the DYNAMIC SELECT switch to influence the characteristics of 4MATIC.
