Doha: The Joint Committee on Human Food Control announced the withdrawal of “frozen corn and vegetable” products originating from Hungary and Belgium and produced by Green Yard, known as Pinguin, as a precautionary measure for possible contamination with Listeria bacteria and this following an international notification.
The committee explained in a statement today that it was clear that the product was distributed in limited quantities, and was completely withdrawn by the competent authorities from outlets in cooperation with the distributor and that the quantities was reserved.
The statement also confirmed that samples were taken from the product for laboratory testing in the laboratories of the Ministry of Public Health to ensure its safety, pointing out that good cooking is sufficient to eliminate this type of bacteria.
The Joint Committee on Human Food Control called upon all consumers who purchased the product not to consume it and return it to the outlet from which the purchase was made, adding that If the product is consumed, and if any symptoms such as nausea, fever and intestinal disorder after 3 to 5 days of consumption are noted, patient should head to health center urgently.
