London: US musical "La La Land" picked up five of the 11 prizes it had been nominated for at Sunday evening's BAFTAs, the British film and television awards, at London's Royal Albert Hall. 

The movie went home with awards for best film, cinematography and original music, while Emma Stone won as leading actress and Damien Chazelle as director, according to the (dpa).

Casey Affleck won the leading actor award for "Manchester by the Sea," which also took the original screenplay award.

Viola Davis won as supporting actress in "Fences," and Dev Patel as supporting actor in "Lion.

British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) was founded in 1947, is the world's highest art awards performance proceeding the Oscars ceremony in the United States.
