Doha: Qatargas Operating Company Limited (Qatargas) has warned against impersonation of the company's identity on various social media platforms.
"It has come to our attention that Qatargas' identity has been impersonated on various social media platforms through fraudulent advertisements spreading false information about investment opportunities in Qatargas stock," Qatargas said in a statement.
"Please be aware that this is a scam and Qatargas will never offer shares as part of an exchange on social media," the statement added.
The company urged the public not to respond to these fraudulent investment solicitations, and under no circumstances should they send any money in response to them. Qatargas shall not bear any legal liabilities as a result of fraudulent advertisements.
