Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Saturday expressed deep concern over the further deterioration of the situation in the Middle East, including missile and drone attacks on the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a statement issued yesterday, the ministry said: "We strongly condemn any actions involving the use of force against civilians and civilian and energy infrastructure, as well as those posing a threat to the security of the states of the region and international navigation."

"We stress the need for strict compliance with the norms of international law, including respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of states," it added.

The Uzbekistan Foreign Ministry also stressed that disputes should be resolved exclusively through political and diplomatic means, based on dialogue and mutual respect.

"We support the efforts of the United Nations and the states of the region aimed at de-escalating tensions, preventing further spread of the conflict, and establishing lasting peace in the Middle East," it said.
