Doha: Doha Zoo has welcomed twin cubs of a white tiger. The cubs — male and female — were born inside the facility of the zoo which is run by the Public Parks Department.

The cubs have been isolated under the supervision of a veterinary unit to receive the necessary medical care and ensure that they are fed with artificial feeding and are in good health, said the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in a release.

The white tiger is considered a rare animal, and it is not a new species but acquires its colour due to a genetic factor. It has a bright white colour, brown lines, blue eye, and light pink nose. The white tiger is found in the Indian subcontinent and a number of other places including tropical forests and wet forests with dense vegetation. It feeds on cows and wild boar.
