Doha: The Shura Council participated yesterday in the virtual Global Parliamentary Forum, organised under the theme “Achieving a Green and Inclusive Recovery Post COVID-19” by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, in cooperation with the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.
The Global Forum provided an opportunity for parliamentarians to meet and participate in direct talks on development and issues related to the global economy with senior management and experts from the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.
The Forum also provided parliamentarians with updated information about the Bank and the Fund’s priorities and strategic orientations, as well as a platform for exchanging knowledge, enhancing parliamentary participation and achieving better development results.
In addition, the Forum allowed parliamentarians to have direct access to the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund and to enhance the possibilities for dialogue and influence, especially at the local and regional levels.
The Shura Council was represented in the Forum by H E Mubarak bin Saif Al Mansouri and H E Khalid bin Muhammed Ajaj Al Kubaisi, members of the Council.
