Brussel: European stock indices rose at the start of trading Thursday.
The European Stoxx 600 index opened up by about 0.3 percent after reaching a record high in the previous session.
The European technology index gained 2.5 percent, making it the top performer on the STOXX 600, with artificial intelligence chip stocks leading the gains.
The French CAC 40 index rose by less than 0.1 percent, opening at 8,337 points, while the British FTSE 100 was flat at 10,181 points, as was the German DAX at 25,276 points
