DOHA: The students of Qatar University organised an awareness event at Katara Beach yesterday under ‘Dawerha’ campaign that aims to make people aware about recycling of waste and sustainability.
The campaign is a graduation project of female students from Public Relations at Qatar University. The campaign explains the importance of reducing the use and reuse of resources to the people, in addition to introducing them to those responsible for waste recycling. The project serves the Qatar National Vision 2030.
Aisha Al Kaabi, a public relations student, said: “The development of the spirit of sustainability among individuals is a national duty for everyone living on this good land, and it is our duty to practice public student to serve the environment and the homeland”.

Student Sara Al Saadi, a public relations specialist, said that the campaign team’s presence in Katara, which is meeting people of different ages, is due to the desire to make people aware about their role in preserving the environment and achieving Qatar National Vision 2030”.
Student Dana Al Hadad commented on the camping and said: “The campaign received a lot of support from different institutions and this shows that the State and its institutions are moving towards sustainability.”
Student Shoug Al Sulaiti said: “The campaign serves the foundation of environmental conservation in the first place, but the impact of sustainability extends to the economic and social aspects as well.”
