Doha Singers unveils Spring Concert ‘MOVIE MAGIC’

The Doha Singers is gearing up for their spring concert “MOVIE MAGIC: Your Favourite Hollywood Hits”, bringing alive your favourite movie moments from such blockbusters as of Dirty Dancing, An Officer and a Gentlemen, Titanic, Love Actually, Skyfall, and many more. Doha Singers teams up with the AFCENT, the US Air Forces Central Command Band, as well as students from the International School of London, Qatar at the QNCC on May 19, for one their showiest and grandest concerts yet.

“We are delighted that this year we are performing on a bigger platform where we are expecting an audience of over 400 people and we are happy to introduce the AFCENT, the US Air Forces Central Command Band, who will be performing for the first time in Qatar,” states John Warren, chairman of the Doha Singers committee.“This gives our performances a new edge and motivates our team to perform get better every year.”

The collaborative effort comes after weeks of dedicated rehearsals by volunteering members of the Doha expat and military communities, joining together people from various nationalities and professional backgrounds through a common love of music. This passion for music is highlighted through a selection of songs that are as iconic as the movies in which they were first introduced to the public.

“Our aim is to make sure each piece we sing connects with our audiences and the emotions that were invoked when they viewed these classic movies for the first time,” explains Claire Daniels, Musical Director of the Doha Singers. “It has been such a pleasure working with the amazing talent of our local communities, who have dedicated their time to enrich the local musical scene and share these favorites from the silver screen.”
